Could your school become an eco-school? It’s a really good way to get the whole school thinking about climate change and what they can do about it.

It encourages schools to think about their environmental management with the help of pupils. They have to help make decisions and make it a success.

Infants, primary, secondary and special needs schools can all apply to be an eco-school.

There are seven main areas that an eco-school has to look at:

  • Litter;
  • Waste Minimisation;
  • Transport;
  • Healthy Living;
  • Energy;
  • Water;
  • School Grounds; and
  • Global Citizenship.

The eco-schools programme is run by Keep Wales Tidy. To find out more and register your school visit the Eco-schools website.
